Address Confidentiality Program

Phone: (800) 822-1065

Description: Since 1991, the Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) has helped crime victims (specifically domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking) to stay safe. ACP is designed to prevent offenders from using state and local government records to locate their victims. To participate in the program you must be a survivor of sexual assault, domestic violence or stalking, a resident of the State of Washington, and must have recently moved to a location unknown to your abuser and unknown to government agencies. One component of the program has set up special voter registration and marriage licensing procedures that prevent public access through those records. The program now provides services to underserved populations, including tribal members, deaf and hard-of-hearing victims, and Spanish-speaking victims.
